Under the direction of Marie Hélène Fabre, the granddaughter of the company founder, the company is one of the last manufacturers of authentic soaps based on vegetable oil. Provence is closely linked to the history of soap making. It was King Louis XIV, the Sun King, who in 1688 enacted the purity law for Marseille soap, which is still valid today. A high-quality, natural soap has been produced at Fabre since 1900, without coloring, free of preservatives, without animal fats, without mineral oils, without essential oils. Mainly olive oil (for the green soaps) and the oil of the copra palm (for the yellow soaps) and, for the scent notes, only extracts from plants from the native Provence are used. Today MARIUS FABRE continues the royal tradition of the Marseille soap with the refined process of the soap masters. But what would the art of the soap masters be without the right ingredients for the Fabre soaps only the best raw materials from the south of France are made used. As in the past, the soap mixture is first boiled in huge kettles for 12 days at 120 degrees Celsius and cleaned several times with salt water. Drying is done by the Mistral; (the wind of Provence) and the shining sun. MARIUS FABRE guarantees consistently high quality and excellent mildness.
